1. I have the Google page as my home page... |
|
And that looks truly cool today!
I always enjoy how Google adapts their logo for whatever cool thing is going on...

I'm using (and loving BTW) Firefox, as we speak!
KitchenWitch came over and very helpfully got it uploaded for me!

5. Have you tried any of the keyboard shortcuts |
|
or keywords?
Keywords are great and easy to create: Go to a page that you search often, Wikipedia or Snopes for example. Right-click on the search window and select 'add a keyword for this search.' Give it a descriptive name and a short keyword (I like to use single letters). Then save it by clicking 'add.' Now you can just type your keyword/letter followed by what you are searching for and Firefox will automatically perform the search and take you to the results.
For example, I have the following keywords set: d - dictionary h - ehistory (Ohio State University) i - images (google) m - maps (google) n - news (google) s - snopes w - wikipedia y - youtube
Some keyboard shortcuts (just faster than always using the mouse): F5 (reload) Ctrl T (create new tab) Ctrl W (close tab) Ctrl pgup/dn (go to previous/next tab) Ctrl +/- (increase/decrease text size) Ctrl Shift T (open last closed tab)
Say for example I need to need to look up Titanic on Wikipedia. I type 'Ctrl T' (which opens a new tab followed by 'w titanic' (cursor was already in the address bar). Presto. After finding what I need I type 'Ctrl W' to close the tab and I am returned to the previous tab.
