Most of my favorite drinks involve vodka.
White Russians, Peach Vodka with Green tea, Vodka and Lemonade, vodka and tonic, and screwdrivers. What are your faves?

4. Bombay Sapphire martinis |
|
straight up, stirred not shaken, two olives.
Sounds ridiculously simple, right? I can make it at home no problem, so it *must* be simple. (I don't usually, because they taste too good to have massive amounts of them around the house.)
Almost NOBODY can make one right, at least in my neck of the woods. They're watered down, or have olive juice dumped in them, or too much vermouth, or the drink barely covers the olives, or SOMETHING.
Almost NOBODY can do this simple thing for me....!

In cold weather, the Skygazer -
A cup of hot chocolate A shot of Starbucks coffee liqueur (or Kahlua) A shot of Starbucks cream liqueur (or Bailey's) A splash of Philip's Union vanilla whiskey (or any vanilla vodka) Whipped cream
(and if you're in an extra decadent mood, a generous pour of Godiva chocalate liqueur)

and remind people that mixed drinks and cocktails are different genuses.
Also, before someone makes a fucking fool of him/herself, because they always do when the conversation turns to alcoholic beverages, "Martini" and "cocktail" are not synonymous. Cocktail is a genus, "Martini" is a species within that genus. "Mixed Drink" is a genus, of which "Rum and Coke" is a species.
