Any Macbook gurus out there? |
|
My daughter's Macbook will not start up. It stalls on the grey screen with an Apple logo and spinning wheel. I know zilch about Apples, so any tips would be appreciated.
I cross posted this request in the computers forum, but I'm betting that the Lounge answers will be helpful AND entertaining!:)

1. Make an appointment at the Genius Bar |
|
at your nearest Apple Store.
If you have another computer, you can do it on line. Otherwise, look up their number and call. I've taken all kinds of disasters in to them and they've always come through quickly and efficiently. Even when I spilled coffee on my MacBook (that episode was expensive).

3. Try removing the battery |
|
and putting it back in.
I have an iBook and sometimes after updating stuff it will do that. Usually removing battery and putting it back in will do the trick. Also, sometimes the Apple guys can talk you through a situation over the phone and you don't have to go in.
