Rent Rent Rent Rent... Rent!

So no doubt everybody knew about this but me, but "Rent" closed on Broadway September 7th; however, the last performances were filmed and edited into a film which is playing nationwide, but only four times: last night (whoops), tonight, and Saturday and Sunday afternoons. It's even in a couple of theaters here (Cola SC) so it's probably playing somewhere near you, too. Fly in the ointment is that according to Fandango, tickets are $20. But it's a phenomenal show. Clearly, this will come out on DVD soon, but it's probably a bigger hoot seeing it in a theater, even a movie theater. Also, if you saw the Christopher Columbus version, this is different. Not that Columbus did that badly, it was just ... different.

So see it if you can afford it, or get the DVD when it comes out. And no, I have no affiliation with the show or the movie or its distributors. Just saw it on Broadway some years ago and really dug it.
