I just found out I have a compressed fracture of a vertebra.
I had back x-rays yesterday because I was having an annoying pain on my right side. It turns out I have a fracture at T6. This is supposed to happen to elderly people with Osteoporosis. I'm only 56; no spring chicken, but not elderly. Damn. I'm already going to a Pain Treatment Center for bulging discs in my Lumbar region. The problem is, I can only take the prescribed amount of pain medication that was given to me for the lumbar situation; not the fracture. If I take enough for the pain in both places, I'll be breaking the contract I signed about pain meds when I first went there. I'm supposed to wait until my next appointment to have my script changed--on Oct. 1! I've never had this much pain and I don't know what to do about it. Hugs, please!
