omigod! I was *this close* to kissing a mouse |
|
Last night Egypt the rat terrier was standing on the deck in the dark and when I opened the door, she just trotted over to the driveway. I followed her out there since she usually likes it when I come out and carry her back in.
I picked her up and I was within an inch or two of kissing her muzzle when I noticed she had something in her mouth. It was a MOUSE :wow: I almost kissed it :puke::puke:
I spent the next our hyper-salivating and rinsing with Listerine
Oh - and the ferocious hunter refused to go outside to potty this morning because it was drizzling and her pretty little feet would get wet :eyes:

1. Well, just remember this |
|
The next time you go to kiss her muzzle, that mouse is still there. And every mouse that came before it.

I am still traumatized. I took a cotton ball with peroxide and rubbed her muzzle down and then rinsed it off again. It's the tongue that is killing me....

4. Absolutely. Our yard is vermin free at this point. |
|
All the rabbits hang out on the perimeter on the other side of the invisible fence now. Egypt just sits there staring at them and whimpering because she can't chase them anymore

5. I misread your subject line as "Moose." |

I think I've been reading too much about Caribou Barbie.

10. It was clearly dead - poor little thing. |

I gave it a proper burial in the woods this morning.

13. Hee. My lovely little girlie girl dog eats slugs |
|
Ugh. I know she had to fend for herself for the first 5 months of her life but she gets fed twice a day now she does not have to hunt out every slug (in a very wet, wooded, swampy yard) any more. Ick! She can hunt out slugs with a pinpoint accuracy that would make the Air Force envious. Her kisses seem just a little less appealing somehow now...
On the bright side, my hostas should be looking better next year.

I mean, it's bad enough I know she licks her butt, now she has to shock me with a mouse like that?

I probably would have dropped the dog out of fright. I'm not big on dead things...
