Can a complete loner earn a master's degree in psychology?
Or do they screen them out to ensure that the general public doesn't get the idea that knowing academic psychology might mean knowing practically nothing about people and merely what some books say about people?

2. yes, but even the research folks have to actually talk to people!
 It might even give a loner a different perspective as well.

One of my grad programs had a group interview for admission, but that was for a very experiential program. I don't know if they have that many of those anymore.
