2. Satisfaction Guaranteed.
What constitutes satisfaction with canned pork brains?

10. Hm.
Who knows? It might be quite good. Cow tongue is often shunned, but it's actually a very flavorful cut of meat. Say what you want, but until you've had it you don't know if it truly is 'ick' material.

11. My dad and his mom
used to FIGHT OVER the BRAINS every fall when they killed hogs.

I don't know about canned, but fresh ones fixed with scrambled eggs are quite the delicacy around here.

12. I've never had it
But I won't pass judgement on it. I have a smoker and most cuts of meat that are the best for smoking are horrible if cooked in any other manner. If made right, it might be something quite good.

Besides, most people don't know what they're putting into their bodies, anyway. We all might have been eating pig brains all along and didn't even know it. It's not like anything Taco Bell makes is discernable as any one kind of 'meat'.

14. Funny you mention an omelet
The cholesterol level of the forementioned pig brains is about the same as three egg yolks.

Food Item
Amount of cholesterol in milligrams (mg)

Eggs

Egg yolk (1 large egg)
218 mg

3500 (can of pork brains) /218 (large egg) ~= 16. 16 > 3. Q.E.D.

23. Here's how:
"Cholesterol is more abundant in tissues which either synthesize more or have more abundant densely-packed membranes, for example, the liver, spinal cord and brain"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cholesterol

22. What I find interesting is that
this company sells enough to make a profit after the expense of having the labels made and actual canning.

I'd try pork brains in milk gravy on a dare but I think I'd have to insist on fresh not canned :)

25. I had brains once (not knowing at the time what it was)
I was in Mexico. Not a tourist area, but pretty deep in, in a small town. There was a taco vendor and I was hungry, so I got a couple. The meat was a little strange.. mostly it was a different texture. I asked him what it was and he said "sesos". I didn't find out until a month or so later what that word meant.

but some goofball decides to nosh on the brains, instead? :wtf:

That's almost as bad as eating the feet...
