How long does your watch battery last?

It seems like I'm changing watch batteries every 6 months. Is that an average time, or is there something wrong with my watches?

Actually, a watch battery should last at least a couple years.

4. I only wear cheap $10-$20 watches

I have completely destroyed tons of watches. I am VERY hard on watches, and it doesn't matter what the quality of the watch itself is, 6 months is the lifespan of a Dropkick watch. So, my watch batteries NEVER die alone, generally the whole watch is killed before it's time.

And even the super expensive one's with warranties suck, because while they're off getting fixed, I'm left watchless or have to go out and buy, yep, the $10-20 jobbie anyway!

It's one of those Citizen Eco-Drive thingies. The watch face is a solar cell that is supposed to keep the battery topped off. Seems to be working.

I don't just drive a hybrid; I wear one.

I paid eight bucks for it, don't even know what brand it is but it has a very large face on it essential for my be able to see what time it is.

The most recent one, though, is one that I bought and installed myself, and it has only lasted about 6 months. Either the battery is dying, or the watch is, because I've had to smack the crap out of it a couple of times lately to get it running again.

12. Do you use Alarm or Chime?

The Noise and Light functions can dramatically shoorten the life of the battery. Typically I get several years out of a watch battery. However I don't normally use the alarm.

I have a very good watch, analog, no fancy functions except the date...

I think I've had it since at least 1980...

It runs like a top! Quartz, Seiko.

The batteries do so well that I forget they're in there!

I've never changed a watch battery in my life. Although, the longest I ever wore one watch was daily for about 3 years. So, with apologies to the wise old owl from the ancient Tootsie Pop commercial, I'd have to say "thr-r-r-ree."
