TIME Magazine "What the World Eats" - notice America eats out of boxes and cans and other shit
http://www.time.com/time/photogallery/0,29307,1626519,00.html

It's a photo story of what 15 families around the world eat in a week, and what the total cost is.

I find it telling that the more "civilized" the country is, the more garbage it eats: boxed and canned processed foods, instead of healthy stuff, like veggies.

Quite interesting.

2. To be fair, it's hard to tell what's in a lot of those plastic packages
For example, a plastic package of beans may look all fake in a distant shot, but it might be totally unprocessed (except for removing rocks or whatnot) on the inside.

Nevertheless, it's surprising how many veggies some of the people ate. And I'd like to send that African family some veggies. :(

Thanks for posting this.

Though I also actually really, really, really love Marmite. :-)

I have had bangers and mash, and bubble & squeak, and like that stuff, but I love grease.
Brits eat eels, too, and you are welcome to mine.

They both have great piles of shit with them, and plenty of good ol' American High Fructose Corn Syrup Soda to wash it down.

30. Yes, and no
If we make the effort we can get our produce and meats at cheap prices compared to the super market. The produce is awesome too - it's always fresher than the big store. The butcher has good meats too and it's usually, freshly carved as the person handing it to us is covered in blood.

That's why they're going to supplant the US as the fattest country on Earth sometime in the fairly near future.

And they're gonna take that away from us?

Oh, wait...We're undoubtedly still number one in mass murder shooting sprees, so I guess we can still retain our title in something.

Edited on Wed Oct-01-08 08:27 PM by pitohui
the uk and mexico for two are some supposedly thin people who will never see their feet again, that's for damn sure...even the japanese who as a matter of self image consider themselves small and size seats on the bus accordingly...ain't

what's most pitiful is the dutch, tallest people in the world, check out royal dutch airlines where even first class has a MIDDLE seat, that's a delusional people lying to themselves about big they've gotten

the world is fat and getting fatter and americans only flatter themselves when they pretend that they are still the biggest people on the planet

fuck, i've met people from india (south asia, not native americans) who are simply humongous and there is no other word for it...and when i was little my mom used to try to get me to eat by guilt tripping me w. starving people in india, ha, not in my lifetime, ma

Only three countries in Europe even top 15%: the UK, Slovakia, Greece, Hungary and Luxembourg.

35. Our family has been using two different food banks
as well as the foodstamps. The food banks give us a lot of canned food and boxes. IT IS NOT SHIT! It is canned vegetables and fruit. Also, cereals like Cheerios and raisin bran that are good grains. I am very thankful that we have canned food. And yes, we do get fresh vegetables at the supermarket with the food stamps.
