Poll question: by what method will you vote this year?
my county offers early voting starting on oct. 20 and i am going to take advantage of that because colorado has a horrendously long ballot this year -- 18 statewide ballot initiatives. i also have two federal congressional and two state congressional seats to vote on, a few county initiatives and a handful of judge retention votes.

the county clerk and recorder told voters to pack a lunch if they plan to vote on election day. i'm doing early voting rather than mail in because there's something about actually going in that excites me.

5. Stupid mail-in ballots, oh how I loathe vote by mail
Never got my primary ballot, nor did I get a call-back from the BoE.

Of all the dumbfuck ideas, vote by mail has to be way high on the list.

10. Yeah, but if I never get the ballot in the first place...
I have to go to the poll and cast a provisional.

It's ridiculous. I talked to a guy at the BoE, and he said that they had numerous complaints about the USPS not delivering ballots or, even better, not picking them up because apparently there was some problem with the pre-paid postage.

People couldn't vote because the BoE couldn't figure out the right postage. I have total faith in the system, let me tell you.

I don't really like Obama much, but it seems vitally important that McCain/Palin don't get into the White House.

11. I used to vote on voting day
It used to be a block and a half walk to the school and I was in and out quickly. For 2006 they consolidated the voting areas and now I have to walk a good mile to vote. Not only that, the line was LONG!!

Therefor,I am doing early voting this year. My Grandparents vote absentee of course.

Gotta find out if they have early voting here. If they do, I'll go for that. If not, either absentee ballot, or I'll waste the gas to drive home from school on my lunch break.

I will have moved by election day, so the only way I can vote is early. I'd rather vote in my new home (might have slightly more impact), but such is not to be.

21. I never send for my ballot in time
to vote by mail -- not so sure I trust that method, anyway. And there are usually one or two ballot initiatives that I can't decide on in time for early voting...so I head to the polls on election day. Besides, it just feels better to do it like that.

22. Absentee, and I'll drop it off at the county elections office.
It's the exact same ballot I'd vote at my polling place, counted the exact same way (optical scan machine) but no line, no inconvenience, and no chance that I'll have some sort of emergency and miss getting to vote.

A few little special elections I might have forgot about otherwise, but the ballot just shows up in my mailbox every election.

I'm not American and do not live in America!

But he will have my vote in spirit -I think most of the international community wants to see Obama in office. What a change it will be to have a man with such honesty, integrity, vision and passion as leader of the free world

39. Early at a shopping mall on an electronic machine
In Henderson, NV. We have the paper trail gizmo.

I have absolutely no idea why early voting is ridiculed by some commentators. Why is it necessary to wait until the last minute, supposedly to digest every piece of information? I know my priorities and recency is not among them. Similar to football or basketball when there's no chance I'm evaluating a team solely based on the most recent performance or bit of info.

42. We are early voting in Ohio this weekend.
Our roommate is going to be out of town during the election, so roomie, hubby, and I are going to go vote early.

Not that I have anything against voting on election day, but I'd rather early vote and not take any chances that my vote will get screwed up at the polls with those stupid machines. We went that route in 2004.
