2. Most newer TV sets have closed captioning built in
Put the sucker on Mute, then fire up the CC. It's not just for Deaf people anymore; I've seen it done in crowded, noisy sports bars, for instance.

4. I used to do that when I was younger so I oculd watch TV at night...
And not have my parents yell at me to go to bed. :P

6. If the Beeb do a similar thing as they did for Pres Debate #1,
then they'll stream it live with a running commentary that self-refreshes below. You can mute your computer, and just read the comments and instant analysis.
