My first post using Mozilla! |
|
Wow - I downloaded Mozilla almopst a year ago, and finally ran it (this is from March 13 of last year!)
Geez.
Anyway, I like it! Nice and snappy, like my keyboard.
I used to always prefer Netscape of IE, since IE was always such a piece of crap until about version, and then Netscape turned into crap about the same time, so I switched.
Though I also was a real big fan of opera a couple of years ago, but as I've moved through computers, I've never reinstalled Opera.
I think I might give Opera a try again, too. See if it's still as totally wonderful as it used to be.
Of course, I really need to get an updated Mozilla.
I don't like the address bar being off to the right of the action buttons, though. I love that in IE it's anchored to the left on it's own line. This is really bothering me.
But I'm willing to give it a try for a while, and get rid of the security hole laden IE.

1. What version are you running? |
|
1.6 is the latest stable version, but 1.7a is also out. I'm using it and it's perfect. No probs at all. It's amazing, Mozilla's alphas are more stable than MS's SP3 software versions. :eyes:
Hope you continue to enjoy your Mozilla experience! :)

Tabbed browsing alone makes Mozilla better. It also has a pop-up stopper built in and junk mail filter int he mail client. I have found a few sites that will only work in IE and not Mozilla. There is even an answer for that. You can download an extension that lets you right click and open the same page in IE

5. Yeah, I'm liking this tab function |
|
Since I love having many pages open at once. Now I don't have to have boatloads of separate windows.
I won't be using it for email, though.

7. There could be an easier way, but here's one way...... |
|
Go to the bookmark manager (Click Bookmarks/Manage Bookmarks or Ctrl+B). Then click on tools/import.

9. That only lets me do it one link at a time |
|
:argh:
Surely they must have thought of a way to import bookmarks? I mean, that would just make utter sense.

11. I just downloaded it and my faves were automatically transferred |
|
If I could figure out how to transfer the shitload that I have on AOL, I would dump them in a heartbeat :)
That's the ONLY thing that makes me keep AOL.. I have thousands of links at my fingertips on my fave list..:(

12. Perhaps because I downloaded as a zip file, |
|
and not an executable from the website.
Oh, well, I really need to upgrade to this year's version anyway.
So perhaps I'll try the executable way, and see if that imports everything.
Bookmarks are awful damn precious, aren't they? I back them up when I backup "my documents" and my email.
