What it boils down to is this, though...

Two years ago I swore up and down that 2008 was going to be The Year.

Well....that, plus walks'll kill you every time (game 1), sloppy defense (game 2) and couldn't execute (game 3). Plus, the Dodgers that they faced this series wasn't the same team that they played in the first half of the season. This is the team I was afraid of.

Your guys are playing great. Never held out much hope for the Cards this year, but despite all that, there's something about baseball season that's inherently comforting. I've actually moved to Cooperstown, though, so there's a definite baseball vibe in the air year-round. :D

Looking forward to an entertaining NLCS...these last few, dwindling weeks of baseball are going to have to get me through three months of wall-to-wall football coverage. :bounce:

Most excellent! Heebus, if any single word says "baseball," that's it. Not to mention, from what I've seen of the area it's quite picturesque.

The Cardinals were a huge help to us. As early as mid-August, I looked at the schedules for us and Arizona, and I saw their four games in St. Louis Sept. 22-25. I thought, "That's gonna be the difference." Sure enough, you beat 'em three out of four, and in fact it was your win over 'em in the last game of the series that clinched it for us. :D

7. I was pullin for the Cubs but being from LA I have to give props to the Dodgers!

They pretty much came from fuckin' nowhere this year and are heading to the NLCS! :toast:

Now if the Angels can pick themselves up and dust themselves off, we might actually get a shot a freeway series!
