Kira has been working with Veterans for Peace since last year and is trying to establish a Sister Group at her school. She edits the school paper and was reprimanded for writing negatively about Sarah Palin, and positively about our Democratic governor, Jon Baldacci. She decided to start a new group and solicit writers for an independent school paper, on one page, and as a consequence the local Veterans for Peace donated a year's membership dues for her. She has already pissed off the administration by passing out cards listing alternatives to joining the military, and reasons why one might choose to opt out. Anyhow, please check it out and maybe send her and the kids a message of support! I joined but am prohibited from writing a message because, man, that would be TOTALLY uncool. :hi:
