What can you tell me about this college?
The Globe Institute of Technology

It seems reasonably priced, and they have the major that my boyfriend is looking for, but I was just wondering... because the price is so much lower than all the other colleges we've been looking at... is there something wrong with it? Or is it just a really good find?

1. Well, it's "proprietary," which means that it's not non-profit
but you'd have to ask New Yorkers about its reputation.

2. Okay, thanks.
But aren't most colleges "not non-profit"?

5. I was not impressed with their webpage...
it looks like something I could have created in two hours using Frontpage. www.globe.edu (excepting that they offer Korean, Chinese and Japanese translations of their page and I speak none of those fluently.)

I went looking for some basic information: accreditation, alumni and what they were doing now, facilities, campus news, faculty projects and achievements, internships. I found all that, but in underwhelming fashion. Most schools want to brag about those things. GIT seemed to want to give as little information as possible.

I can't say that it may not be a great school...I'd be wary and look at it with a critical eye. (Something you should be doing with any college anyways. It's one of the more important decisions you'll make in life.)
