It is a harshly cold day here in my neck of the woods - gray and overcast, windy, and downright cold. I'm snuggled in, making roast beef hash from scratch, and enjoying a nice warm drink.

We're going to try running the furnace as little as possible this year, so I've brought out the quilts and the down throws and the sweaters and closing off unused spaces. I feel rather cozy today.

3. Yes...
though I like to use Gran Marnier or Chambord or Godiva chocolate liqueur in place of the brandy sometimes.

8. I had to go out today, and I'm not sure I could be convinced to do it again.
I'm in my nice warm lounge pants and fuzzy socks and it feels pretty good.

11. It's one of my favorite comfort meals.
We had a roast beef dinner on Thursday night, so I'm using leftovers. Whatever meat is left after that will be used in some beef vegetable soup tomorrow night.
