Do you boycott local businesses that have McCain signs? |
|
I've seen a bunch of them and have vowed to never go to those places. I've only seen a couple with Obama signs but I will make a point of checking them out. I think it's not very good business sense to post political propaganda because you risk pissing off half the population.

I even skipped going for a second opinion with a physician that I was referred to by my pcp when I went to their website and saw that he also works in a "religious pregnancy center". They have a McCain sign out in front of their office too. You can best believe I skipped that one and kept going down the list for a different doctor.
Edit to add: I also skip businesses with Dallas Cowboys banners too.

political affiliation affect your choices, let the people affect your choices. Good people are good people no matter their political views.

5. Lousy people generally have lousy political views... |
|
...and in my experience, political views are a pretty good barometer of overall personal values.
And why do I want to give my money to some freeper's business if I can avoid it? Granted, it's often unavoidable...

there are those on the other side of the political spectrum that think exactly like you do. Are your personal values good or bad and from what perspective are you basing your answer to that question on?

19. Of course there are... |
|
...let's just say I don't have a problem with moderates, but if someone is extreme enough to risk alienating customers by putting a political sign in front of his BUSINESS, then I'll probably avoid spending my money there.
But given the standard Republican "deregulate me" and "anything for a buck" mentality, its far more likely that I'm going to get screwed by a Republican auto mechanic than a Democratic one. And if I know my money is going into the pocket of some Limbaughtic right winger who will finance some shitheel like John Boehner's re-election, why the fuck would I do that?

We've had a flurry of McCain signs posted without permission in my town.

8. I would avoid the business. |
|
At least until after the signs came down.
If I HAD to go there, I'd mention that they are risking losing a large chunk of customers. Sometimes they think that everyone feels the way they do. When they find out differently, they take the signs down.

I haven't seen any on businesses yet.
By the same token, there is a bar in town that ALWAYS plasters the wall outside with Democrat signs. I keep meaning to go in there, but my bar days are few and far between.

I am disappointed that my very trustworthy garage has a nonsensical, "Support the troops--let them win the war" sign on the patch of grass out in front. (I'm still taking my car there, though--they're too good to dump.)
I'm also disappointed that my very friendly, kind neighbors across the street had their front porch polluted with a McCain sign yesterday. I think somebody dropped it off for them, because it was leaning up against their front door. I don't see it in their yard yet, however.
On edit: Alas, I just peeked out the window, and now I can see it in their front yard. Shame. Such nice people. Too bad they're brainwashed.

18. I've only seen one business in my area dumb enough to do that |
|
It is a small computer repair shop... but, with many different choices around, I'll likely go elsewhere if my PC needs repairs.

I do.
I would no more trade my money for goods or services with those who freely advocate the destruction of this country and the Constitution than I would rob the corner 7-11.
Never.
They can trade with their own idiot "me first, only me" base. Fuck them.
