Figure drawing

I'm pretty pleased about how my last figure drawing turned out. It was a 20-min pose, but I still didn't have enough time to work on the face. I'm sure it won't last here long. I remember what happened to billyskank's beautiful nude portrait, so enjoy while it lasts. Bad cell phone pic...oh well.

12. Oh it's not finished

You should see the one minute poses. Nothing more than circles and sticks! Usually I don't have as much time for shading and such. The main goal is just to get the figure proportions correct at this point.

30. Well, I've never seen the model so I can't be certain, but it looks pretty good. :)

Legs and feet aren't quite perfect, but the rest looked fantastic. Helluva lot better than I could have ever done. :)

than I have seen in your past drawings. This is good, because it means you are gaining confidence. Believe in yourself, because you will be surprised at what you can do.

27. I like it. Do you know what helped me out with figure drawing? Dont laugh...

...but "How to Draw marvel Comics" has excellent chapters on figure drawing. It also helped me with faces & profiles.

I've been doodling for years and I improved by leaps & bounds after following these instructions.

I've talked to 2 art students (who are not comic fans) who also have used this book...I've never looked at other books on the human figure-but I read in blogs that this book makes figure drawing easier than any other book.

I'm not saying you need any particular improvement, BTW- but I'm always looking for ways to make my drawings slightly better so I thought I'd share...

We've been spending a lot of time on anatomy. We have weekly assignments of skeleton and muscle drawings. I bought a few anatomy books for that reason. I'll check that link out.
