If McCain had beaten Bush in 2000, would he have been a better candidate than he is now?
I ask because at the time he seemed to be the high minded challenger. But now it seems that, if he won the election, America would actually be worse governed than by Bush. Which would be quite incredible.

But we're seeing now that McCain is actually desperately short on wisdom. That is key. Experience doesn't count for shit if it hasn't made you wiser. (Same goes for intelligence and knowledge, really).
