Just too weird. I like weird movies, but not that weird. That was just....bizarre. The only thing I really remember about it now is that they somehow turned Dwight Schrute into a fish?
The crazy thing is, the sequel "The Devil's Rejects" was actually a pretty good movie. It had a neat Tarantino crime spree movie vibe to it. Same characters, but much more engaging movie.

And the funny thing is, I did not see the beginning, either. I just changed the channel and watched several minutes of the middle. I couldn't even tell you exactly what was going on. But there was such an overlay of, I don't know--cinematic smarm? and the assenblage of actors, Hunt, Spacey and Osment? I got the impression they were fishing for Oscars. Another bite of the apple for all, as it were. I found myself completely uninterested in how it ended. All could and have done better.

8. Some movie last spring |
|
It made such an impression on me I can't remember the title. A teenager was pregnant and a couple was going to adopt her baby. It was highly touted and I wasted a half hour before bolting to see the remainder of another movie. What a waste. The dialog was so forced and absurd and overdone I was wondering how anyone could tolerate it.

It wasn't horrible, just a bit disappointing and overrated. It didn't live up to all the hype for me. The title character came off annoying with all her hip phrases.

It is also impossible to enjoy this movie even if you are a 100% golf lunatic, but in that case you have to pretend that you liked it, in order to save face.

25. I don't think I've ever managed to watch an entire Judd Apatow movie... |
|
I started watching several of them because people say "Oh man, this movie...you've got to see it." and they're always nauseatingly dumb and disgusting and simply unredeemable. Now if I start to watch a movie and his name (or Seth Rogan) is in the opening credits I just turn it off then and save myself twenty minutes.

26. "Moulin Rouge" and "The Crow: City of Angels" |
|
"The Crow: City of Angels" - Walked out of the theater halfway through. I'm a HUGE James O'barr fan, and i saw that film as a kick in the teeth to the "Crow" mythology that he had laid down in the comics.
That, and the acting was fuckin' terrible...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Moulin Rouge" - The cinematic style caused an intolerable headache within the first 20 minutes. Turned off the DVD and went to bed.
Half way through the movie they evacuated the theater; a major refinery fire in the middle of the city. A cracking tower ignited, took off like a rocket, and crashed on an oil storage facility.
Pandemonium.
1977.
I never did get another chance to see the movie.
After Benicio del Toro's character appeared on the screen for the sixth time to Elvis's "Viva Las Vegas!" I swore, if I heard that intro one more time, I was going to throw the movie away. Six seconds later, I had to stop the movie to fufill my promise.
And Moulin Rouge kicked ass!
