Not a phrase I'd ever heard before last night at a birthday roast, where an accordian player did indeed provide a very funny soundtrack to the "evening in Paris" theme of the event, playing funny bits of music that went with whatever the roasters were saying about the 60 year-old "birthday boy".

A better quote though, was from the roastee, a happy, very successful gay man who sent out love to his straight, conservative parents who were both there. He said "you taught us (he and his brothers) that you only get one life, and you should live it to its fullest, and live your own life, not someone else's idea of what it should be."

Good advice for us all.
