I try to tell people it's because I'm fascinated by a song with 6 pre-choruses.
But the truth is it makes me cry like a 12 yr old.

But here's a couple 80's tunes/artists that weren't thrash or punk that I really, really liked. Thomas Dolby - Hyperactive http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zelVvrgcK_gThe Babys - Isn't It Time http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iOl2wp__yfc

Strangely though, I never got into Waite's solo stuff. Maybe I had just moved on to darker musical pastures by then. :)

15. Considering this video preceded MTV by nearly 2 years, |
|
it was great to be able to watch, finally, and would have fit right in had MTV gotten its start in '79.
I don't care what anyone says. I might love my prog rock now, but I'll never be a snob who turns up his nose at the great pop songs from back then, this one included. :)

48. "I Want to Know What Love Is" by Foreigner |
|
It was "our" song with the person I was with at the time. It's on my favorites list on my Ipod, and I feel a little (a lot) guilty whenever I hear it, because spouse and I (we met in 1990) don't have "a song."
If you asked my DH if we had a "song", he'd say it was Jimi Hendrix's "Purple Haze", which was originally recorded in 1966, when I was 5 y.o., and he was 19. :wtf:
Ahhh, the memories of being 20-something.
