1. I can't remember how Dogmeat died in Fallout I
He really helped, and could take quite a bit of damage. Didn't he make a cameo in Fallout II?

4. Poor fella was zapped by ...
I think an electric fence? It was close near the end of the game, IIRC. I don't think he made an appearence in Fallout 2 or Brotherhood of Steel, but I'm not sure. I really got attached to Dogmeat, moreso than any human NPC. We humans are funny creatures...

5. You got that right, friend!
And proud of it. Fallout was a lot of fun to play and has a great story. If that makes me a nerd, I say indeed!

3. If only....
Another important note is that although Dogmeat can follow you to all ends of the Earth, he is mortal and can be killed in battle or even when acquiring materials in a dangerous territory. If he dies he will stay dead, obviously imitating reality.

If only the main character was mortal and could only die once, obviously imitating reality. Can you imagine? You die in the game, the screen says Game Over, you wait to restart but nothing ever happens, the buttons don't work. It's just a black screen of death. Then when you eject the disc you find that the optical laser has burned it up, unplayable. $60 for the most realistic shooter ever.

8. Maybe...
It's a FPS now, so environments are rendered on the fly... It looks great, I have to say. Hope you can enjoy it soon :-)
