Should I vote tomorrow?
Just found out we've got early voting from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. (It's a very small county.) What are the advantages?

I've always liked to vote on election day because the reporter in me wants to be there when it's happenin', but I guess I could be talked out of it.

1. I liked early voting.
But our polling place is the creepy guy's garage, so I was happy to go to the shopping mall and vote.

3. I'll never get used to voting in someone's garage.
I had always voted in public buildings before I moved to CA.

6. I know.
The "garage as polling place" really bugs me.

If you vote on Tuesday the reporter in you will have the chance to report to DU about the experience.

9. Yeah, I've been thinkin' that
If I go tomorrow, it's likely I wouldn't have any stories to tell, like about long lines or Freepers being arrested for electioneering or somethin'.

I just hope I don't have the same story as in 2004, when some assbucket plowed into my truck as I was turning into my polling place. x(

crappy picture of me in it. Which just sucks out right. Let me tell you!

For you, to disprove any creditability I may have; here I am still half asleep this morning.

Because I couldn't wear it with my glasses, so I had it turned around. The feather was very cute in back, but is there a picture of that that's in focus? No. There is a reason why I'm the picture taker of the family. :eyes:

And I came in 2nd place at work for the costume contest. I was robbed! :P

11. i generally agree that election day is better. i like that there are more
watchers and all. but i have to say that early voting has been a real gift, with all the bs that has been flushed out. so, especially if you live in some moron ridden place, vote early so you still have a chance to straighten it out if they fuck up.
me, tho, i look forward to taking my break from my precinct where i am a judge, to walk over and vote at my home precinct. i hope i have the time. voter regs are off the charts here. we have 6 judges assigned, instead of the usual 5. i heard they tried to get 7 per.
it'll be an exciting day. i want to be a part of it.

13. You guys get time off to vote?
We barely get lunch breaks, and they make us vote absentee. Also, uphill, though the snow, etc.

27. yup, gotta give you half an hour.
it's usually quiet in the middle of the day. a lot of the judges do vote absentee. i like to make sure my home polling place is running smooth. it doesn't take me the whole half hour, tho. it is right around the corner from the poll i work.

28. if the poll i am working is so crushed that i cannot get away to vote,
i won't feel too bad about it. obviously, my vote will not be needed. there is a referendum that i want to vote on. but my down ticket races are about as contested as the big race.
i'll squeeze it in, tho. we have 6 judges assigned. we should be fine.

20. I voted yesterday. I highly recommend early voting.
The line was pretty long yesterday at 4:00 pm.

I can only imagine what it'll be like Tuesday.

Get your vote done tomorrow and then go back to the polls on Tuesday to do your reportering.

29. Vote today. Then you can be a reporter all day on election day. You
can hang out at the polls and not be stuck in a line up.

30. I would have liked to have voted on Tuesday honestly
But they closed my polling place a few years ago (it was just down the road from my house, too :( ) so I am now a permanent absentee voter.

I like being there on the day. It brings back fond memories of many a Town Meeting Day. I think you should feed your inner reporter and do it on Tuesday. And tell us all about it. :hi:

But I kinda don't get it. I want to vote on Election Day. I want to know the results of my vote that day/night. Not sure I would like the wait of voting early

35. Vote early in case you're struck by a meteor.
Of course we wouldn't want that to happen, but in the catastrophic case, you will have done your share for future generations.
