25. absofrigginlutely.
Having spent early life in the South with sweet tea, once I got a taste of unsweetened iced tea, I never went back. The lack of sweetness heightens the bouquet in the leaves.

The unsweetened iced tea haters are nuts. There is just nothing better on a hot summer's day.

I wonder--if you have a sweet tooth I think you like sweet tea..if you don't you like the sour unflavored type I think.

7. Is delicious!
Especially when it's freshly brewed...and strong. And it's refreshing! Sugar just dehydrates you... :P

12. Add lemon
Edited on Sat Nov-01-08 03:40 PM by hobbit709
As a diabetic, I don't need the sugar and can't stand the taste of ANY artificial sweeteners. My brother just brought me a sack of lemons from his lemon tree-he had a bumper crop. They're sweeter than store bought but sourer than oranges. Delicious.

15. Decaf apricot tea--delish!
I can't stand sweet tea, and I have a sweet tooth-go figure.

I switched to decaf when I started having horrible insomnia, now I'm afraid to go back . . . .

20. it's fine
nothing better than ice tea with lemon slices to quench your thirst on a hot summer day. Sugar makes you (well me at least) thirstier.

21. Iced tea with sugar added *after* it's cold is nasty beyond belief.
If you're going to make sweet tea, ADD THE SUGAR TO THE HOT TEA.

It mixes better and tastes soooo much better -- not so sickeningly sweet.

I would rather drink unsweetened tea than add sugar after, and the only way it mixes right with cold tea is if you use artificial sweeteners, which I hate as well.

22. Brewed by the glass, it's heaven!
My recipe for perfect tea:

One 20-oz cup of almost boiling water
Two teabags. Chai or a good black tea, I have a stock of Tazo at my desk.
Steep the tea for between four and eight minutes to taste
Add two packages of Splenda
Take a 20-oz cup of ice and pour the tea over it, going back and forth between the glasses until the tea is cold. It sounds great and makes your office-mates wonder what's going on.
Enjoy!

23. Is very good. What's the point of drinking tea if it doesn't taste like tea?
That's why I don't drink herbal tea (as a general rule). I like my tea to taste like tea. Good, strong-brewed black tea, either hot or iced. NO SUGAR.

"iced tea". You know, the way God intended.

31. Better than black coffee
Well, actually quite a bit better than black coffee, which is pretty much an abomination, IMHO... But sweetened tea is far superior, even though I'm trying to be "good" these days and drink it with as little sugar as possible. It's a hard habit to break, though...
