Best Music on a Television Show since ever: Life On Mars.
Which as a U.S. version of the British show of the same title. And a wonderfully fresh piece of television for American audiences. Even has a nod to Dr. Who with the main character's mother named Rose Tyler. With Harvey Keitel, Gretchen Mol and Jason O'Mara.

You can catch it online at http://abc.go.com/primetime/lifeonmars/index?pn=index or read about it on IMDb.

5. I'd love to compare. I had no access to it when it was broadcast.
I understand it's supposed to be defined with a finite storyline and will hunt down the Brit version after this one has run its course.

7. This is how Gene Hunt is done
and you can see how the US version is mostly a shot for shot rip

8. Wow, the scene in the hospital even has the same blocking.
But Harvey Kietel invented Bad Cop. It was hard to tell from the short vignette but I saw other links on the YouTube link you gave that I'll check out.

4. This has become my favorite show...
I haven't heard about a Brit Version but I love the music in the current one on American TV.

The choice of music is great and goes well with the plot lines.
