what song reminds you of Obama/Biden win?
i was listening to this song and I thought he could have used this song...because it fits so well.

Bon Jovi's The Distance
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6BJJgk9YAg

then again, the song they were using U2's It's a Beautiful Day is perfect.

3. Please don't laugh at me...
Years ago, when Frank Lorenzo was finally banned from the airline industry for life, a colleague at Eastern Airlines (remember them?) said all he could think of was the Barry Manilow song, "I Made it Through the Rain."

I'm NOT a Manilow fan, but that song keeps playing in my head for some reason.

There's a resemblance, I think.

and this Eli Stone/George Michael version is fun:

Birds flying high
You know how I feel
Sun in the sky
You know how I feel
Reeds driftin' on by
You know how I feel
It's a new dawn
It's a new day
It's a new life
For me
And I'm feeling good

Fish in the sea
You know how I feel
River running free
You know how I feel
Blossom in the tree
You know how I feel
It's a new dawn
It's a new day
It's a new life
For me
And I'm feeling good

Dragonfly out in the sun you know what I mean, don't you know
Butterflies all havin' fun you know what I mean
Sleep in peace when the day is done, that's what I mean
And this old world is a new world
And a bold world
For me
Fooor me

Stars when you shine
You know how I feel
Scent of the pine
You know how I feel
Yeah freedom is mine
And I know how I feel
It's a new dawn
It's a new day
It's a new life
hu
It's a new dawn
It's a new day
It's a new life

It's a new dawn
It's a new day
It's a new life
It's a new life
For me

And I'm feeling good

They played it at the Dem Nomination. Maybe that's where the earworm started.

Part of the fabulous Philly sound from the late 1970s - early 1980s. :D If there isn't already something written, SOMEBODY needs to write a book about Philly International Records.

GO PHILLIES !!! Go OBAMA/BIDEN. :bounce: :bounce:

21. I love "The Underdog." Great tune, and perfect message to the GOP:
You got no time for the messenger,
got no regard for the thing that you don't understand,
you got no fear of the underdog,
that's why you will not survive!

12. Crushing Day
for the title only, because it's a Joe Satriani instrumental guitar song.

But Joe plays guitar like Obama speaks, and McCain/Palin speak like Cletus/Brandine.

14. "I'll Take You There" by the Staples Singers.
I've always liked that song, and I've associated it with the campaign ever since it was played after an Obama rally in Ohio (the one where he described having coconut cream pie at a restaurant owned by a Republican).

I also think of "Shambala" by Three Dog Night.

19. Hallelujah,
sung by kd lang. The lyrics cover something entirely different, but the song started going through my head recently ...

That, and Stevie Wonder's Signed, Sealed, Delivered -- which was one of my favorites way back before Obama started using it.

20. You'll never walk alone....
Edited on Sun Nov-09-08 03:13 AM by BlueCollar

YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE

When you walk through a storm
hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark.
At the end of a storm is a golden sky

And the sweet silver song of a lark.
Walk on through the wind,
Walk on through the rain,
Tho' your dreams be tossed and blown.

Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone,
You'll never, ever walk alone.
Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart

And you'll never walk alone,
You'll never, ever walk alone.
