UPDATE on our newest family member: |
|
I took Pip and Bee to meet our new dog today.
She COWERED behind the legs of the person handling her at first, then Pippi came to sniff her.
She still COWERED, but after a minute she sniffed Pip back tentatively.
Bee walked up, took one BIG sniff, and ignored her.
Afterwards I went and hung out with her a little, and she was a little more outgoing with me, wagging her tail and munching on me.
The adoption was approved, and we're picking her up on Tuesday. :bounce:
She needs a name though. Any suggestions?
(FWIW, she looks like an Italian Greyhound/Boxer/Mountain View Cur/Setter mix. She's got silky, medium length buff hair and a long tail.)

3. Did you see her first on the internet, or at the shelter? |
|
Six years ago I saw our dog, Sally, on the SPCA website, then we met her at Petco where they have dogs and cats to adopt on Saturdays. I printed the photo so I could remember my first impression of her. Your new girl looks sweet and pretty. When she's with you a good name will become evident. Have fun with your three dogs!

5. It's a bit of a long story |
|
We were going to get another dog on Craigslist, then the listing vanished. I looked it Petfinder to see if he had gone to the pound, and when I was at petfinder I looked at a bunch of dogs, including a dog called Cinnamon and Myleah. The next day my mom emailed me to say that Cinnamon was about to be put down, and could I go get her. I went down there to get her, but she was with another family who were going to get her. The shelter people asked if I wanted to be put on a waiting list for Cinnamon, and I looked at this happy family with her and I said "No, I'll just look at another dog. Can you suggest a dog for me?" The person there suggested Myleah, and after I met her I couldn't say no. :loveya:

12. Really. How could you say no to that girl? |
|
She is a beautiful dog, I bet she doesn't know what to do with those legs yet though, huh? You are a sweet person for opening your home & heart for her.

4. brandy? sugar? tasha? sweetie? i like the myleah name. |
|
you could do lots of nicknames with myleah my _____ and then _____ and then a name from the last one morphs into a new _____. or go with my-a, mya _____, etc.
my dogs have always had a lot of nicknames. my daughter has a ton of them also.

9. There's a Fortuna about 3 hours from here |

If I wanted to name a dog after a town full of tweekers, trailers, bars, and unemployed loggers, I could find somewhere a lot closer. :P
