True Blood fans check in - what did you think of the season finale **spoilers** |
|
I liked how they wrapped up this season but still left a store behind for next season. I now want to know who Maryann is and why Sam had to fill a garbage filled with money (and where did all that money come from).
And I had to take a second look but it seems the nail polish color matches that of Lafayette (which I hate to see him gone now) so it seems everyone is dying in Bon Temp.
And Jason - wow, he went from being a hounddog to a religious nut job plus it seems serious between Sookie & Bill. That should go over well.
And that new vampire seems like a spoiled brat that's gonna toss a wrench into Sookie & Bill's relationship.
Can't wait for season #2

In the restaurant, he was all like "If I met a nice vampire girl, I'd hold onto her. Does Bill know any my age?"

It is my trashy pleasure. :D
I am a big Sam fan, and really enjoyed the scene between him and doped-up Sookie -- there was a lot of love between the two characters. Kentucky-fried Bill was quite the sight. Lafayette is one of my favorite characters -- I think they will deviate from the book with his character -- listen to the song they played at the end of the show. :) I really love Pam -- she has has the best wardrobe and one-liners. The social worker/"Eggs" have trouble written all over them (her?). Too bad cajan hottie Rene was such a nutjob -- it was fun while it lasted -- I see Arlene and Terry hooking up in the future (he's clearly lovin' her clavicles and fire red hair! :D ) And the baby Vamp is hysterical -- can't wait to see how her storyline plays out. And Jason? Good heavens he is dumb as a post -- cute and cut, but dumb -- thankfully he is played by a charming, talented actor, otherwise his character would be intolerable. I miss Eddy. :(
I've been naughty and reading some of the 2nd season spoilers online -- I think it's gonna be good! :D

7. I had to laugh at how story lines for this season wrapped up |
|
Edited on Mon Nov-24-08 02:48 PM by lunatica
nicely and new story lines for next season started right up in the next heartbeat.
But I didn't get a good sense of storyline about why the murderer killed the girls. He just went nuts in the last episode. No why or wherefore about it.
Lafayette is too good a character for the show to have him killed off. He's in the car which means he's still alive. I can't wait to see what attacked him.

Rene/Duane(?) basically wasn't right in the head to begin with. When his sister started dating a vampire, he fixated on that and decided that she deserved to die for doing such a "dirty" and debased thing. In his twisted mind, she deserved to die.
He then left town, changed his name/accent/hairstyle and moved to Bon Temps. He discovered that there were women in that town doing the same thing, his brain short circuited and he started killing.
Sookie's grandmother was a colateral killing--he was looking for Sookie, and found her instead.

I guess I missed the sister thing. I like the way Sookie did the shovel shave on him.
But does anyone wonder why Bill and Sookie haven't broached the subject of what they're going to do if they decide to be together? Obviously she's going to have to be a vampire. He has no choice but to be the vampire.
I like, in a character kind of way the new vampire girl. From one extreme to the other and now the vampires can't deal with her. That's fun.

since vampires are already dead and will be around long after their human spouses die.

She was obviously, publicly fond of Bill, and letting him date Sookie.

11. I'm thinking his sister was a fangbanger |
|
and that started his outrage.
When he, as Drew, killed his sister he probably escaped to Bontemp and made himself into Rene in order to blend in with everyone. But when he found fangbangers in Bontemp it reminded him of what his sister did. Granny Stackhouse just happened to be at the wrong place/wrong time and since she saw what the killer looked like - well she was a goner

21. I'm pretty sure I've got Maryann figured out... |
|
Edited on Mon Nov-24-08 04:51 PM by Chan790
the clues are there:
*Trickery, treachery, sorcery (It was her and a pig that Tara swerved to avoid...then she disappeared into thin air.) *coming at a person's lowest and most despondent moment, that time when a person is truly lost. *possessing of a beautiful home full of wonders and wants, a place that a victim would not want to leave. *waylaying of the "lost" (offering everything and paradise damning those who would be distracted to give up their quest in life to stay there.) *coyness as to her purpose and motivation. *association with pigs.
She approximates the sorceress Circe of Homer's Odyssey quite well.
Edit: Alternately, I read too much and over-think things.

I'm very curious about Maryann and her relationship with Sam. Why was he packing up all the money in his safe, like he was about to leave? I seriously hope Lafayette isn't dead, because he's definitely one of the most interesting ancillary characters.
I'm not surprised at all by Jason. He's dumber than a bag of hammers, so why wouldn't he join right up with the "Jesus people" as Tara calls them?
It'd be nice if Sookie and Bill could just have some peace, but that's not going to happen with Jessica and Eric in the picture. I think Eric wants Sookie for himself in some capacity.
I can't wait for season 2, but thankfully Big Love is coming back in January.

:woohoo:
Some of these new 'Brit Comedies' on HBO, well I'm just not getting them - that "Life of Tim" and "Little Britian" and now some High School flick. Not my cup of tea. I'll skip those for my favorites which is Big Love, Conchord, True Blood and Entourage.

Sucked about Lafayette, who was a funny character. And before he turned out to be a killer, I liked Rene too.
All in all, it was a surprisingly good show, but then again, HBO does turn out great shows so I'm not that surprised after all.
