Yay! Less than two hours from vacation!
So my work is letting people leave at noon. And I can't wait till tomorrow when I leave to spend Thanksgiving with JerseyGirlDem and her family! I'm so looking forward to it!
Anybody else traveling today or tomorrow?:bounce:

1. Going to my sister's tomorrow
My cousin will be there with her new twins (less than a week old). I took today off since I have a bunch of comp time.

Glad you're going somewhere fun tomorrow, but I'm curious why you're not going to your moms. PM me if you want, or not if you don't want to talk about it.

2. 270
I estimate that 270 will be a parking lot going Northbound, starting at around 1:00 p.m. Oh, joy. Oh, rapture. Over the river and through the woods....

18. Two things you will never see me doing
1. Driving 95 North on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.
2. Entering anything approaching a shopping mall on "Black Friday."

10. Yeah I feel for people with that commute
I live in Germantown and work in Frederick so I drive opposite of the parking lot every day. I've left work late on an average day still seen bad traffic at 7:00 at night with no sign of accidents. I'm so sorry. Bring a book.

17. My list of things that cause backups on 270
1. Rain
2. Snow
3. Sunlight
4. Broken-down cars
5. Montgomery Village Avenue exit (a pox on all who enter or exit there)
6. Cops, even if they are on the opposite side of the road
7. People driving in the HOV lane illegally, and then cutting back into the regular lanes when they see a cop, thus making everybody else slam on their brakes
8. Holier-than-thou types driving 60 mph in the far left lane.
9. Accidents, of course.
10. People slowing down to gawk at accidents.
11. Wednesdays. EVERYBODY works on Wednesdays.

Did I mention Montgomery Village Avenue? :)

23. Hidden Valley offers free lift tickets, lessons!
Hidden Valley Four Seasons Resort has extended its offer of free skiing and snowboarding from the last weekend in November to the first weekend in December.

It also is offering free ski and snowboard lessons to guests 7 and older through Dec. 19. The free lessons are subject to availability.

Guests will be given a complimentary lift ticket at the ticket sales windows on the lower level of the lodge that they'll be required to wear while they enjoy the slopes.

"This is the perfect opportunity for guests to rediscover affordable family fun and rediscover Hidden Valley," said Scott Bender, vice president of resort operations. The Buncher Co. of Pittsburgh, which bought the resort last year, has spent millions of dollars on on- and off-mountain improvements.

The resort will open for the season from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 28 and maintain those hours through Nov. 30. It will close the slopes from Dec. 1-5 and re-open them Dec. 6-7. Spokesman Robert Duppstadt said the resort delayed its opening until Nov. 28 to complete a number of projects and improvements.

Hidden Valley has received 10 inches of natural snow and has made more than a foot of machine-made snow on selected terrain, thanks to its expanded snowmaking system. It had 30 TechnoAlpin snowguns last year, added 50 more this year and now has the largest TechnoAlpin installation in the country.

A complete set of new rental equipment -- Elan skis, Dalbello boots and poles -- is $22. A new rental set of Atomic snowboards and boots is $28.

For more information, go to www.hiddenvalleyresort.com or call 1-814-443-8000.
