2. There was a Doctor Demento version of "My favorite things"
that would get my vote.

3. I've got nine covers of the song...
Somehow, I don't think that I have the Doctor Demento version

4. My Favorite Things...
But I love all of them really.

Same as with Mary Poppins - though my favorite is the lullaby she sings. :)

like: "I must have done something good."

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9EldGWnQ62g

Maria:
Perhaps I had a wicked childhood
Perhaps I had a miserable youth
But somwhere in my wicked, miserable past
There must have been a moment of truth

For here you are, standing there, loving me
Whether or not you should
So somewhere in my youth or childhood
I must have done something good

Nothing comes from nothing
Nothing ever could
So somewhere in my youth or childhood
I must have done something good

Captain:
For here you are, standing there, loving me
Whether or not you should

Maria:
So somewhere in my youth or childhood
I must have done something good

Maria and the Captain:
Nothing comes from nothing
Nothing ever could

Maria:
So somewhere in my youth
Captain:
Or childhood
Maria:
I must have done something . . .
Maria and the Captain:
Something good

9. Oh, Lordy. "So Long, Farewell, Auf Wiedersehen, Goodbye"
once provoked a laughing, giggling and snorting paroxysm among my two sisters and myself (we were in early and pre-adolescence) in a movie theater. We cracked up over that stupid scene in which all the Von Trapp kids wave from the balcony to the assembled guests below, because it was so ....lame. Our mom still holds a grudge over that one (forty-some years later) because, at the time, she just couldn't get us to stop and we embarrassed her in public. What she still doesn't grasp is that we couldn't have stopped even if we'd wanted to. We were just too far gone by the time she tried to intervene.
