"Pride and Prejudice" is so romantic |

I admit, I was skeptical when the Keira Knightley version came out, but it's so good. I actually now prefer it to the Firth-Erhle BBC one.

1. I like it enough that I have the DVD, and I went out and |
|
re-bought the book to read again. I haven't read it since high school.
I like an occasional mushy romantic movie or book. And Keira Knightly was very good in it.

2. Not me. (And yes, I'm a guy who like "Pride And Prejudice". So what?) |

Jennifer Ehle is light-years sexier than Keira Knightly! And comes across as much more intelligent.

11. I ADORE Colin Firth, but I still like the guy in this one better |
|
Although it took me several viewings to think that.

23. Colin Firth has to be the all time greatest Darcy. I wish I could afford |
|
that particular Pride & Predjudice. I'd buy it in a second. As it is I usually rent it once every few years.

5. The sequel, "Boorishness and Bigotry," left something to be desired, though. |

|

I can't believe it, I'm watching that movie right now! They are on their way to visit Judi Dench.
And I looooove Donald Sutherland in this film!

Knightley holds her own in the scene in the study.

I was going to say the same thing! Wasn't she awful?!
Oh what I would give to be able to insult people with such a command of the language... or, hold my own.
I think Knightley is going to be a force to be reckoned with. She and Rupert are just too cute together!

It's a new BBC version with a modern woman stuck in the book. Very cute.

The cinematography is amazing. I love the scene in the rain where he presents her with the letter about Wickham. Keira Knightley is one of my favorite actors, but I'm very loyal to the 95 version.

16. I love the A&E version, but something about the movie with |
|
Keira Knightly was so intensely romantic ... I like them both a lot for different reasons; one reason I like the A&E version is because it has more detail and you get to know the characters better. And I love Colin Firth. But for raw emotion, the KKnightly version is best.

21. Excellent way to compare the two |
|
The BBC version IS THE BOOK, and they actors do a terrific job. The movie is the "highlights" of the book, and is also excellent (although I greatly prefer Saffy's Lydia to Gena Malone's), although I think it is more romantic, imo. I alos think Brenda Blethyn is terrific as always.

but still prefer Ehle/Firth over Knightley/Macfayden. Even though I have to admit Macfayden was a damn sexy Darcy.

24. it's extremely unrealistic imo |
|
as is most "romance". i've never liked romance movies or books. when i do watch them, most of the time it just involved of lots of eyerolling and sarcastic "oh that's realistic!"s
yeah, i'm a cynic :P
but like most cynics.. deep down i'm an optimist who hopes that eventually i'll find someone that'll change my cynicism ;)
