I finally made it to Ikea. Here is my report.
First impression, I thought it was pretty cool. Then, when I realized the bedroom furniture was in 5 different places, not so much. I had to find a salesperson and ask where the bedside tables were. She informed my husband and I we could go around the long way or take the "short cut." This is about the time I realized how large the place was. And a slight sense of panic set in... I've been sensitive to claustrophobia since my MRI. Whew. But all was well once we found the short cut.

Checkout was simple. In less than 45 minutes we found 2 dressers, 2 beside tables, and vases. I was very pleased with the prices.

Getting them into the car was a little bit of an ordeal. My husband is strong, but I felt like the 5 young men, standing around in their yellow jackets, could have helped us load the car... especially since we did everything else ourselves (even the checkout). But, nooooo, I guess it's a sign of the times. Anyway, thank God my husband is strong.

That is my report. All-in-all, a pretty cool place. Though I'm glad it wasn't crowded or I might have had a panic attack somewhere in the middle of it! lol

1. But did you try the Danish or the swedish meatballs?
The Ikea experience is not complete without sampling the food.

But I still managed to get high on the smell of their cinnamon rolls. Does that count? :P

I'm not so sure I'll be going back either.

Glad you had a good time though and found what you wanted!

6. It helps to look at everything online before going
Otherwise, I would have been completely overwhelmed by the size of the place.

the heavy Friday rush hour traffic to get there or the way I was dressed and the shoes I was wearing. Maybe if I prepare myself ahead of time, then the next time will be different but there sure was a lot of walking. And my son, who needed a ride home, wasn't that pleasant to be with that day either.

Other than that, I love their stuff.

12. Because I just want them to specialize in furniture
and not fart around with selling "Swedish" food to the masses.

14. Ikea is the greatest public attraction in the known universe.
It's even fun if you just want cinnamon rolls. :)

16. ikea can be a good time even if you don't buy anything. I always manage to pick up
something there, it was some coffee cups last time, big ones because 20 oz. cups of coffee are for closers.
