3. Not I
There's NO quality in the interior at all.

Half of the trim has come off, and the other half is about to come off.

Including the window stropping, the sun visor, the rear view mirror, all the little doors for change and stuff...

Get a honda.

4. I misunderstood your post title...
I thought you were gonna bash Corollas...

I have a '95 corolla, and its a workhorse.
Gets great mileage, zips around the interstate,
in town traffic, and the country lanes like a trouper.

I have a 1/2 commute to my office, and spend a lot of time
on the road for my profession. I put in Sirius radio about 5 years
ago, because there are times i'm out of a good radio zone...
had two minor accidents on ice, but little car came thru necessary
body work.

It's not glamorous, nor sporty, but does the job.
Do routine maintenance, and it'll stay with ya for a long time.

In my previous job, all my co-workers drove big SUVs,
and I recieved a copious amount of teasing for driving
such an 'uncool' car. I really didn't give a shit
what they thought, but its was such an immature place
to work....Who's laughing now?

Its' a good investment.

5. I'm trading in my gas guzzlers and the new corollas are cheap.
Get great mileage and actually look decent. I'm trying to decide between a Prius or a Corolla.

6. Well, the plastic interior will fail within the year, but the Toyota
engine and body will probably outlive you.

14. Ours is an '05 and we've had zero problems with the interior
:)

No problems with anything else, for that matter.

11. I have a '95 too - it's an automatic
and I hope to keep it another 5+ years. Boring family car, but is reliable, which is big plus with small kids. Plus it's paid for!

I'd buy another, but hopefully a 5 speed - I had a 5-speed before the current Corolla, but my husband totaled it.

7. Nope, they're exceedingly boring cars.
Excitement is not the reason you buy a Toyota. Excellent reliability is.

9. I had a 1994 corolla
It was an excellent car.I had it in the shop only once for an exhaust problem.
I drove it ten plus years and traded it in for a Tacoma Pickup.

I drive one right now--it was pawned off on me by my wife. Okay car, reasonably reliable, boring as hell. Wouldn't buy another one. Count me as one whose not in on the Toyota loveathon.

But his new radio show when I was living in So Cal left much to be desired.

13. It'd be hard to do better. We have one and it's terrific.
Great mileage - I commute 35 mi. one way at an average speed of about 40 MPH, lots of stop & go, and I average 30 - 35 MPG. It's comfortable and solid. It's dependable as the day is long.

Good luck in making your decision!

15. the highest respect for them
I still say I prefer Toyota engineering over Honda.

But never mind that. I went over a 300 foot cliff in a Corolla. I partially credit the Corolla for still being here.

30. geez
Really used to believe I was 10' tall and bullet proof. Kept driving on the Blue Ridge Parkway during a hell of a bad storm. Car hydroplaned, couldn't get it back, tipped over the edge nose first.

Basically, I was a first class dumbass.

17. Used to own a 97 Corolla DX
Emerald green, 1.8-liter engine, plenty of zip. Loved it. Would probably still be driving it if some teenage girl on her cellphone didn't plow into the Corolla with her daddy's Mercedes.

Still, we're driving around in a Camry LE now. If you don't have enough legroom in a Corolla, consider a Camry.

19. I have a Camry, not a Corolla, and I looove it!
We are actually thinking about moving up to a Venza (new for '09), but because we want to for extra cargo space reasons.

I don't think you can go wrong with Toyota.

20. I cant decide which Toyota.
I like the Prius but they are little too expensive still right now. Corolla seems to have the best mpg for a non hybrid. I love Camry's but the mpg is not as good even for the Camry Hybrid. I cant decide!

First car I ever owned. Never really had any major problems. I would tell you what year it was, and how little I paid for it, but then you'd think I was 100 years old! lol

I have driven Cavaliers for the past 17 years. My Corolla drives so much better and gets about the same mileage. And it really looks nice.

24. You should look at the Matrix -- it's a Corolla hatchback

We have one and love it. It gets really good gas mileage, like a Corolla, but you can fit a ton of stuff in there! The backseats both fold down. It comes in really handy all the time, especially with our two dogs!

This is the one we have, but i think the new ones try to look a little "sportier"

27. Yep!
I have a 2007 Corolla S and love it. My husband drives my old 2003 Matrix and my son drives a 1999 Corolla that was originally my mother in law's. She bought a 2008 Corolla LE. I actually like the Matrix better than the Corolla, but the Corolla's MPG is a tad better. I will probably upgrade to a Prius next time. We love some Toyotas in my family!

Cars for people who don't particularly like cars. If you're looking for a nice small car, get a Mazda 3 or VW Golf.
