7. I haven't even bought that many albums in the last year
let alone, ones that were released within the last year. I'll go with "Arbor Vitae" by Quotuor Bozzini though - a 2 cd set of the string quartets and quintets of James Tenney, played by my favourite string quartet + friends (including the amazing Eve Egoyan).

15. Haven't picked them yet.
One of my goals this week is to go through all of my CDs and pick out just the ones from this year (which is a freakin' lot) and then start widdling a list down out of those. My top 3 is pretty much set barring any last minute surprises (there's a couple of CDs by bands I like that are out that I just haven't gotten yet), but after that it's wide open.

It's been an odd year for music. There hasn't been half as many clear standouts as last year, but there's been even more CDs that are just solid releases by solid bands/artists.

Here's a handful that will most likely end up in the top 10. As I say, the top three seem set in place, and have been for months.

Woe - A Spell For The Death Of Man
Leviathan - Massive Conspiracy Against All Life
Made Out Of Babies - The Ruiner
---
5ive - Hesperus
Firewater - The Golden Hour
Harvey Milk - Life...The Best Game In Town

17. Hi, Forkboy
Even with my taste, it was a little easier picking the best albums this year. But since I like a wide variety of music, I felt there were more standouts. :hi:

18. I think my trouble is that last year was one of the best years for music in awhile.
My top 10 last year could have been totally interchangeable because they were all standouts. For some reason this year has been lower key. I suppose partly because so many of the bands I love released CDs just last year. :silly:

:hi:
