I got 200 extra dollars last week for working Thanksgiving and gave it all away

I gave $100 to a local charity drive that buys gifts and necessities for foster kids, and I gave the other $100 to a charity in my hometown in Vt. that buys warm winter clothing for needy kids.

I could have really used it to pay bills or buy gifts for my kids but this was a lot more fun. :)

3. I know what you mean.

I have always given away approximately 10% of my income to different sources, and all of a sudden I cant afford to, and it kills me.

I miss being able to.

4. It's such a tough year for so many people

I'm not in the best shape I've ever been in financially - my husband is laid off and I'm pretty much carrying things - but I'm a lot better off than some people and I know the charities are having a harder time meeting their goals.

It feels good to help. And I understand why others just can't. :hug:
