Which he did, at age 39, after undergoing open heart surgery. He had heart trouble since contracted rheumatic fever when he was 8 years old. And yes he was way cool.

And he convincingly played a very bad dude (Nazi bigot) in 1962's Pressure Point along with Sydney Poitier.
