I may need a hug. :(
I am not my brother's keeper.
What a day it's been.
First I have a twisted dream
then
The oil light comes on as I'm headed to Humane Society
then
I get three horrible "how I found a stray" stories at Center. (one involving a brave, determined cat named Champ or close AKA "catsickle" :( )
then
I arrive to my house with my evening beers in hand to wind down only to find my stove eye on high and unnattended with 6-8 broken eggs all over kitchen floor.
then
I find my brother near passed out upstairs
then
when I hit him up for a little money for him to help a little on bills/food he says no (even though I've been feeding his ass for 6 months)
then
he says evil shit when I offer to take him to the bank, or take his card to get some money (before he pisses it away and I have to feed him out of pocket another month.)
then
I go up to confront him
then
he points a rifle at me as I make the corner
then
I load up the dogs and leave the house before I become a felon. I can't be a felon because I must vote.
then
I pull up a dirt road and stew
then
he starts texting me on how he is going to screw up my finances
then
I boil
then
I go talk to magistrate to see if they have "Baker Act" here like they do in FL because my bro needs put in a psyche ward and detoxed
then
Magistrate laughs that I'm even there since they know me and my despise of cops, but informs me that drunk decisions are conscience decisions whether he knows it or not
then
I think of my grandson and how he might get killed while his mom drives him to my house one night because bro decided to drink and drive AGAIN
then
I file papers on bro and have him arrested.
End of story? O'contrare(sp)
Bro's drinking buddy calls me and says what does he want me to do with him and that he bonded himself out of jail (with my money)
THEN!!
I'm amazed, bewildered and flummoxed beyond hope.
Then
I call jailhouse, get connected with magistrate and asked him if he was high. I remind him that we about had an OK Corral 4-5 hours ago and bro was piss drunk yet you turn him loose with 30-30 (rifle) in cab of truck and a case+ beer in bed to "go home."
Then
He says, his stuff is there so it is his residence and he can come and go as he pleases.
Then
I explain to him that I'll be all Dog Zebra on the porch preparing for a gunfight.
Then
He says if he comes and shoots, call 911
then
I see headlights, panic cause I had been pacing while being amazed at the dude and had distanced myself from my pistol in the dark. I tell him. Oh shit he's here. It's on. I gotta go, thanks. *click*
then
It wasnt him so I called back to see if I could put a restrainiong order on him or get some protection sent out. He says yes... Monday through Friday 9-5.. He wasn't joking. I hang up and man my post.
then
I stew some more and call jailhouse to let them know my amazement and wonder why I went there for help in the first place. They say you can file Domestic Violence papers.. I'm like cool! Hold on, let me connect you.
then
magistrate answers, I roll eyes. He says yes, you could file BR-549? Domestic Papers. Great! I'm on my way. No, you can only do that M-F 9-5....
then
I say so... ... *breathes* .. if I was a woman and my bring home the bacon husband came home and blacked my eyes because supper was cold, you would let him bond out and beat me til monday?
then
Mr ...., that is a little extreme. I hang up.
then
I call the place I go help at on Saturdays to tell them I can't be there tomorrow (which sux bad cause it's about puppies and kitties) I hang up.
(story is getting too long, but it felt good to vent. thanks if you made it this far) Bro had friend come get laptop and report that he was filing some papers on me tomorrow...
weeeee!
Annnnyway, I hardly ever share the trajic, but since this is hopefully the climax where it all starts heading back to normal I thought I'd ask for a teeeny tiny hug.
This story ended about 2 hours ago. I held back a bit before I came to computer, so I could have a beer while I whined.
All is well now.
:x

That's a terrible story, just terrible.
Are you safe? How can you ever be safe?
Jesus, that really set me off. I wish I could bring you here and make you safe.
Just be careful.....................

It just amazes me now that a system can operate like that.
I can handle my brother. It is just that I am TIRED of doing it and finally agree with all that know me in that I'm being used, mooched off, and treated badly. I just want my peace back, so I'm doing what "normal" people do I guess.
Rather than doing what I've been doing it which isn't working.
It is pin-drop quiet here on a Friday. I miss this.

I've been around drinkers all my life and always figured to each his own.
My brother is the first person I suggested AA to.
It is sad, but after these shockwaves pass it will be much calmer and less chaotic around here.

He is kicked out and I think he understands that.
I cannot leave my stuff though. I will treat it like I did when I booted my ex-wife.
Take what's yours but check with me at the door. You have 7 days to clear out.
My life is going well really. I thought long and hard about that as I was "stewing." There are 2 or 3 HUGE kinks at the moment, but he was the one that was nothing but negative.
I'm fixing that.
Thanks for the hugs :)
(gawd, I'm like spilling my guts in public!! baby steps lol)

10. Good!! I'm glad to hear that you know you can't 'fix' him and you deserve better! |
|
I'm very proud of you and I know it feels like you may be letting him down but
YOU AREN'T!!! You are really helping him in the long run and helping yourself!
Stay strong! Take care of you!

Thanks.
My persistence is all in the back-stretch. I've been so slow out of the gate that I'm getting congratulating phone calls from unsuspecting onlookers.
Hehe, there is Sooo much to do around here that there is a pretty big nitch of people who listen to the scanner all day :D

13. It has been many moons ago that I was in weird stuff like you |
|
well, KINDA like that affected my homelife and my "EVERYTHING" about my life. I do hope you work swiftly to take the right steps and get yourself safe. Even if you don't think he'll lose it totally on you and you know him good enough, that's not good enough if he's held a gun at you. The psychological drain can make you physically sick too, and probably already has. Go forward, don't go backward. You've BEEN your brother's keeper, right or wrong, now is the time to put an end to it.
