1. And you have a Parker carousel horse
that looks similar to mine. Someone also put rockers on mine, although I don't have space for them in this house.

2. A what? My wife bought that at a car wash about 25 years ago.
Never realized that it had provenance.

17. Google Parker carousels
You will see that it has the same leg and mane configuration. It was probably an inside horse on a two bank carousel. I got mine in SoCal about 35 years ago. I paid $100--a bargain at the time. Wooden horses in good condition, even machine carved horses such as the Parkers, are worth anywhere from $5000 to $10,000. (The last time I checked, which has been a while.)

By the way, I'm assuming it's a wooden horse. If if is Fiberglas it is a reproduction and not worth nearly that. Still pretty cool, though.

20. My wife says it was hand carved. It's wood but it's not
an antique and won't be for about 75 more years.

32. It will be an antique sooner than that
100 years = an antique, and Parkers were made in the early 20th century.

14. I think dog's have more expressive faces than cats
it's much easier to take the same picture of your cat's face.

try taking a picture of a dog, they are never ready, their mouth is wide open woofing at you, their tongue is halfway up their face, their head is turning.

cats on the other hand, very good at paying attention and watching you, which is good when you're trying to take their pictures.

12. You know why you aren't getting responses?
Probably cause the dog owners are all still sleeping in, while the cat owners were woken up at the break of dawn by hungry/needy cats.....(yes, I'm a cat owner):P

24. All 4 of mine....here and gone.
Gibson....my little old man. Got him my second year of law school, he passed in 2004.

Millie....the Grand Dame of the bunch. Always the center of attention. We lost her in 2005.

Bristol....my little brown dog, my shadow. He died suddenly Nov. 5th, the day after the election. Still cry a little every day.

Neville....our last baby. This almost 16 year old Old English Sheepdog is the sweetest, albeit perhaps dumbest, dog on earth. Lit his butt on fire TWICE staring at his tennis ball in front of the fireplace.

27. Here is my girl Prudence.
She is a two and a half year old Dachshund born in Oklahoma. She's a rescue and I lurve her. She is the most loving animal I've ever had. I have never had anyone love me like Prudence loves me.

This is us last Christmas. She loves to snuggle, and she loves the Christmas Tree.

Here she is being a little creepy.

And here is her best human impression.

General Silliness a week after we got her
