Poll question: If you think you've had influenza, but you missed two days of work (or fewer) |
|
and had no lingering after-effects, did you actually have influenza?

1. i'll rely on a doctor's opinion if you're in doubt |
|
in my experience flu certainly does not knock me on my ass for months
you need to eat more raw garlic if you're recovering that slowly

3. I had the real thing, confirmed with a nose swab. |
|
It didn't knock me out for months, but it DID knock me on my rear for weeks. Two weeks, to be exact. I've had it twice in my whole life, and my little boy had it once when he was five because some jerk at his preschool sent their kid to school sick. Ugh.
I've never personally seen a real case of influenza take less than a week for the worst of it to run its course, but I have heard that people who've had flu shots often recover much faster than people who haven't. I'm also sure that some people just have crazy-good immune systems along with VERY mild cases, thus making for a much faster recovery than usual.

5. If I had a fever and felt too shitty to b awake |
|
then yes I had the flu. I used to be able to say I never get sick, but I can still say normally I'm under for a couple days is all. This getting sick for weeks is still foreign to me and I hope it stays that way.
If I'm just a little under the weather I don't stay home.
