You know what I don't understand?
Mandarin Chinese. Not a word.

I can't hear word of it when someone talks with a heavy Brittish accent.

8. Auto mechanics.
They try to tell me exactly what they fixed on my car, and it all sounds like Hungarian or something.

Terry (the mechanic): This here's your interocitor. I had to re-calibrate that.
Me: Uh huh.
Terry: And your flux capacitor? It was shot. We had to switch out the bearings.
Me: I see.
Terry: Oh, and it's not urgent, but your dilithium crystals are going to need replacing soon.
Me: Okay.

I actually do understand a few words in Mandarin, thanks to my fondness for Jet Li movies. Unfortunately, "Yes", "No", "His sword is swift" and "What is it you wish of me, Master?" never help at my local restaurant.

12. You got rooked
Flux capacitors haven't had bearings since the mid-'70s, when the industry switched to bronze bushings — except Mardis flux capacitors. But only Cummins uses those anymore, on its Diesel engines, and even then the bearings aren't sealed, so they can be re-packed every 10,000 miles or so and they should last a long time.

And you don't replace dilithium crystals; you recharge them. But be careful to use only Delco Blue polarization on a no-load stator.

It's good that he re-calibrated the interocitor, though. Too many people overlook that. It should be done every time the Johnson rods are degrommeted.

10. People who eat liver
and then go on about how good it is.

They're eating the organ that screens toxins in a living being.

Enjoy.....................
