I just saw two vehicles engulfed in flames. |
|
I have a long drive home and its snowing here, so I took my time, going 40-50 miles an hour instead of the usual 70. I couldn't see the lines anyway, I was just looking for the best path to drive on. A couple of huge semis passed me and then another one stayed behind me for a while. He flashed his lights to pass and he did. But he stayed slow so I was behind him for 20 miles... then I saw him brake and I had no idea why.
But on the other side of the highway was a huge flaming wreck- it looked like a car-truck collision. I've never seen anything like this. I felt like stopping but I knew there was nothing I could do. There was a police vehicle a ways away. No fire truck yet, it must have just happened. No way to know if the people got out.

3. Well there is nothing about it on the news... |
|
and I am going to infer that nobody was hurt or killed in this spectacular accident. Thank you God.

4. The traffic guys on WHFS in DC used to refer to those as carbecues. |
|
I know it's not funny, but that always made me laugh.
Hopefully, everybody's okay.

6. I've never seen a fire this close up |
|
and it was on the other side of the expressway. It was kind of stunning to see this fireball in the middle of a snowstorm. Still nothing on our local news except that its bad weather and lots of little accidents.

9. my brother-in-laws pickup |

burst into flame on 6-6-06. He turned the key and the engine blew up. Fortunately he didn't get hurt, but his truck was completely destroyed.

7. The worst vehicle fires are |
|
motor homes. I've seen two burn, and they're almost explosive. Fortunately, the people got out OK of both of them, but there was nothing left.
