350,000 in MA without power - 320,000 in NH without power - Temps in the TEENS tonight |
|
folks we had a MAJOR ice storm up here last night. State of emergency declared in MA. Utility workers from Canada coming down to help. Power might not be restored for AT LEAST A WEEK.
Cold as hell this weekend. Trees down. MILLIONS of trees down. We missed the ice where we live by about 7 MILES!
Just rain here. About 3 inches of rain. Governor has asked Washington for help (up here in LIBERAL New England :eyes: ). Yeah THAT will happen.
Anyway that is what is happening in our neck of the woods. Oh and one of the cities hit hardest (Worcester) has a beetle infestation problem that is killing the trees so people can't haul the debris away because the city is under quarantine regarding the removal of brush.
Lovely.

TM is currently passed out thanks to a half gallon of Raspberry Vodka she drank while playing Guitar Hero all day. :eyes:
I suppose I could use my light saber to cut her stomach open and crawl inside her belly for warmth

6. What's the weather like in Kennebunkport? |
|
If the power's out at the Bush Crime Family compound, Chimpy might be a little quicker to provide assisstance.
Of course Poppy's probably got a lot of emergency generators set up, so he might not be hurting all that much.

10. Wow, that's a bad storm! |

I guess for y'all that's like a cold version of a hurricane for damage. But at least if you need clean water, you just go outside and gather it up ;)
Stay warm and safe, ok? If you lose power, bundle up and share beds if you have to or if you can.
Even with a big red state like Texas, the republicans didn't offer much help to Galveston after Ike. We all wonder if it will ever recover.
I'll be so happy to have an effective FEMA, like it was a decade ago, for all of our sakes... :D
