Goddamnit!
I'm looking out my window, and it is all still and snowy and quiet.

It brings back some terrible memories of this time last year when I was in a bar and some fucker slammed my phone shut.

I got pissed, and went into a stance.

Next thing I know, SIX fucking guys in their twenties are surrounding me.

I got out of it, somehow.

Winter BLOWS.

1. It's "goddammit," goddammit, not "goddamnit."
Don't believe me? "Goddammit" passes spell check. "Goddamnit" doesn't.

4. OK, some questions here
What kind of "bar" were you at and what kind of "stance" did you go into that made six fucking guys in their twenties surround you? And how, and maybe what, did you get out of it? And why does Winter blow? Does the snowy quietness bore you perhaps?
Now remember, I'm not trying to be mean here, but you may well be asked these questions under oath, in a court of law...

5. Here is what happened...
I was 49 last year when this happened.

It was a huge bar on a Saturday night that was crowded.

I was alone...and mellow, Texting my girlfriend as they were starting to close at 2 am, leaning on the bar.

One of the bouncers shoved me and told me to get out while there were still about 60 people in the bar. He came out of no where. Then he slammed my phone shut.

No one touches my stuff. I'm no tough guy, but no one fucks with me. I threw my coat to the ground, went into a fight stance and smiled at him.

Next thing I know, six guys formed a circle around me.

I told them that at least three of them would be losing their teeth.

They backed off momentarily. I picked up my coat and walked out.

6. Way to go!
You handled it very well...I hate assholes in bars, especially ones who work in them...Bartender told me too fuck off once when I asked for a glass of water...I was happy when that place went out of business...

By the way it's blowing hard here tonight! But I like winter storms, as long as I don't have to go out in them and the power doesn't go out...

7. Where are you Tom?
I'm in upstate NY. Winter depresses me... I like the heat!

Please don't get me wrong here...I should have known better for being in a bar so late at night. I would have been beaten senseless... but you know how it is when someone touches you.

9. upstate NY...brrr!
now I know why you like to "buffalo" every once in a while!

I'm in Portland Oregon...hence my tendency to post in the wee hours...It's usually mild here in the winter but lots of clouds and rain...hence the term "home of the pale pink people"...this fall has been unusually clear and dry until today, though. The weathermen have taken over the local "news" all week telling us about this storm supposed to arrive today. Temperatures to be in the teens! Coldest weather in years! Reporters stationed on top of the Sylvan overpass reporting live all week in anticipation (the Sylvan overpass is at the top of a large hill over the freeway from downtown to the suburbs, it's where all the news channels send their reporters whenever the temperature gets near freezing, waiting for accidents I suppose because nobody lives there!)

If I had my druthers I'd own a summer home up here and a winter home down in Arizona or New Mexico...the rain I don't mind unless it goes on for 40 days in a row (it does that here) but the unrelenting dark gray days...the sun sets at 4:30 this time of year!

I hear ya on the bars late at night thing...I used to go nightclubbing all the time but I guess I just got too old! Plus I used to live within walking distance and the bands were great and the cover charge cheap...now I don't know any bands by name it seems...

10. I have never been out your way...
I went to Los Angeles once for a week, but Northern CA and Oregon remains a mystery to me....hopefully someday I will get out there.

Winters here in NY are too much...and they get worse on your body as you age.

As to your last point, I don't think I have been in a bar since my episode last year. :P
