Need info re fees ... what is allowable now re new rules --
friend going thru it and concerned about who she has hired -- charges --
and if it will be honest deal -- credit card debt -- don't know total
amount or number of cards --

I would have your friend call multiple attorneys to get a sense of what an appropriate charge is. If she has concerns, she can always talk to the bar association.

Bankruptcy isn't rocket science, but there are a lot of options out there. Talk to a lawyer so you can figure out which form of bankruptcy protection, if any, is appropriate.
Also, not all debts are dischargable under the bankruptcy code. if child support payments and student loans are big issues, you are going to need someone to help you work that out.

In TN,iirc, the fees are set by the bankruptcy court the attorney has to file with(it depends on where you live).
