I'm always having ideas for inventions. Right now I have 4, I've had more in the past but I didn't write them down and forgot them. Unfortunately, I never took business in college. I was wondering if any of you have any knowledge about how I would go about selling them or marketing them One of them, I'm sure, they would make $ if I could just figure out how to get them out there.

1. I don't know much, but I do know... |

you should take your designs and get them notarized so that you have proof you came up with an idea on a certain date.
Be aware there are several outfits around that will do this for you, but will take a cut of the profits. How much, I don't know.

That notary idea is a good idea. Also, do you know any reputable outfits by name?

Idealism leads to invention. Living under the rule of law doesn't inspire anybody to invent, only lawsuit inventors.
The monetary system sucks royally, with this being a big reason.
People need to contribute for self satisfaction and helping society.
The repukes' "self-reliance" is a joke.
Think I'm a commie nutter? Wait until the oil crash. People WILL need to help each other and put the money shit aside if they're to survive as a species.
God did not create money and all was well.
Man invented money and despite sayng "money is the root of all evil", did nothing about changing a damn thing. Yet.
As for the topic, reponse #4 is spot-on.

2. talk to a patent attorney |
|
they will help you evaluate your ideas and prepare the patent application. It's expensive, but if your idea is good, and if you market it correctly (also expensive) you can make some cash with it.

Don't go to one of those companies that promises to help you patent, then market your idea. I've heard countless stories of such companies failing to complete the patent process, and then later getting a patent in their own name for a strongly similar item. I've yet to hear of a single instance where one of these companies did what it promised. These companies seem to exist soley to steal ideas.
Instead, get a patent lawyer and get the patent in your own name. Then you can approach companies and either negotiate a deal where you get a slice of profits or at least a one time payoff for your patent.
Until that patent is in YOUR name, you won't have a legal leg to stand on.
Good luck.
