My balcony door is frozen shut |
|
Edited on Sun Dec-21-08 05:02 AM by enigmatic
We've got an old kitty w/ sinus issues and she likes me to open the balcony door for her whenever she needs to get a few sniffs to clear her nose, no matter what time of the days or whether I'm doing my show or not. Of course, I comply:D
Just now she came up next to me and started pawing the glass balcony door (my "studio" is next to the balcony door); I was in the middle of doing a drop-in on the air and I told her I'd open it when I was done and the music was playing again. I did, and when I tried to open the door it wouldn't budge; the thing was frozen shut. It's -31C here and it's dammed cold, but we never had a door freeze like this.
Of course, the kitty looked at me as if it were all my fault, but hey, at least she didn't drop a hairball in my shoes in retaliation...

4. Lordy, dude, and I thought it was cold here! |
|
We're getting hit with our second storm of the week. Lots of snow, and heavy winds. So far, though, none of the doors have frozen shut, and our two kitties who normally love to be outside, are happily cuddled together in the house to stay warm.

5. You could try tapping it lightly (on the frame) |
|
with the palm of your hand. Or just spray some WD40 in the lock. :D

6. Bloody cold out there, isn't it? |
|
I can't wait for a heat wave of, say, -15. x(
I've had this happen many times before. Your (or your wife's) hairdryer is your friend. :)
Good luck - and stay warm!
