You see, us Floridians always seem to get a bad rap from this board. But give us some credit.

You see, us Floridians always seem to get a bad rap from this board. But give us some credit.
You don't see us rubbing it in other people's faces that it is going to be in the upper 70s here today. Upper 70s today, and sunny, bright skies. No sirree, you don't see us talking about how that bright sun glistens on the green palm fronds blown by a nice ocean breeze. Us Floridians are not going to talk about how when some people are in parkas shoveling out their cars underneath two feet of snow, we are in short sleeves and tshirts contemplating about going to the beach today. We are not going to be thumbing our noses at others that we can take a nice drive today with the car windows down and the top open on roads unencumbered by snow and ice.

I promise you, on behalf of the entire state of Florida, I will not mention any of these things to you. None at all. Now, if you excuse me, I'm going to jump into the pool.

:P

8. But not the hurricanes...
Snow? Hurricanes? Snow? Hurricanes?

Snowmen, snow balls, snow angels, snow forts, snow days...

Vs.

Hurricanes.

Real smart choice there buddy.

10. I've lived through both.
Edited on Sun Dec-21-08 01:29 PM by PeterU
And I can affirmatively say I would rather live through 10 hurricanes than one blizzard. I'd rather live through 20 hurricanes than one ice storm.

At least hurricanes are cool to watch if you are in a safe building. Snow just lingers, and lingers, and lingers.

11. I dunno, having been through both
I think I'd opt for a blizzard over a hurricane.

Florida is still cheaper to live in, so...

13. I think it was when I was 16, and I had just shoveled out my parent's car...
...from under 2 feet of snow for the THIRD TIME THAT WINTER, that I pretty much said, "Screw it. I'm moving to Florida."
