So I just ran into Olympia Snowe in the parking lot behind the store. |
|
My wife, my son and I were coming out the service entrance to the store, and she was coming from her car in the parking lot. We passed her and we all exchanged pleasant hellos. I refrained from launching into a diatriabe about how the federal government has moronically gone ahead and made hand crafted wooden toys and knitted children's sweaters illegal in order to protect them from Chinese plastic lead toys. Nope, I just said 'Hello' and walked on my way.
At this point I feel the need to point out that the parking lot behind the store is permit only, and I'm pretty damned sure she doesn't have a permit to park there, as she isn't a tenant and was more than likely just parking there to go to 555 Congress Street (a fancy restaurant). Also, here nose is much more comely in person than on TV. TV just makes it look way bigger than it really is. Also, she had a really nice scarf on too.

1. If we could but waylay her, we'd have so much to say, eh? |

3. When the election was over, |

a friend of mine mentioned that if McCain had chosen her as his running mate, we may have had a real run for our money. I think he was right and I told him I was glad he wasn't working for the other side.

4. If McCain had chosen her, I think we would have lost. |
|
She's a moderate magnet. Conservative democrats love her.

6. Yeah, that was pretty much |

his sentiment, too. Glad McCain was too busy pandering and not using very good judgment.

5. You did right not engaging her in conversation. |
|
Once she opens her mouth, she never shuts it.

7. Uh oh. Sounds like you've been trapped in a room with her. |
|
Have you?
This is merely my second encounter with her. The first, I was in line behind her at the jetport. She was extra-ordinarily rude to the ticketing agent. Not that ticketing agents don't normally deserve it.

8. I've been trapped in a plane with her, coming from Boston. |
|
Fortunately I wasn't the person she was speaking to (can't say 'with' because it was really a monologue).
